Boeing is an aerospace company. It focuses primarily on engineering, information technology, research and development, test and evaluation, technology strategy development, environmental remediation management, and intellectual property management. The company operates in five segments: Commercial Airplanes, Boeing Military Aircraft, Network & Space Systems, Global Services & Support, and Boeing Capital Corp.
The ongoing conflict between Boeing and union machinists in Washington state over the construction of the planemaker new 777X jets appeared to reach a breaking point last week when Boeing announced it was soliciting bids from over a dozen locations. But, a recent mistake in a full-page ad by the Washington Aerospace Partnership aimed at keeping Boeing in the state has raised some interesting questions, even if it was a ringe-worthy error,as a spokesperson for the group admitted. The error in question revolved around a full-page ad that mistakenly superimposed a photo of a European-made Airbus A319 with the text he Future of Washington.A hugely ironic oversight by the group members, the mistake has had the unintended consequence of imagining what a future without Boeing might consist of — and more importantly, imagining a future with Boeing rival Airbus.

SunPower's (NASDAQ: SPWR ) higher guidance has investors excited about solar stocks again, and even Chinese companies have dreams of making a profit. It's been a long road back for investors in solar stocks, but the clouds are lifting. With financial performance improving at leaders First Solar (NASDAQ: FSLR ) and SunPower it may be time to get into the market. The Motley Fool's Erin Miller sat down with Fool.com contributor Travis Hoium to get the latest on the industry.

I recently had the opportunity to interview Tom Werner, CEO of solar leader SunPower (NASDAQ: SPWR ) . The company has had improving fundamentals this year but the industry is still highly competitive, so I was interested to find out how SunPower plans to hold off the competition in the future. Below are the highlights from the interview.

Potential home-court advantage aside, the numbers indicate the U.S. is and will continue to be the hub for solar innovation, which is why SunPower (NASDAQ: SPWR ) and First Solar (NASDAQ: FSLR ) warrant consideration for any solar investor. SunPower, which touts the highest-efficiency commercially available panels has long demonstrated its R&D prowess. In 2013, SunPower took home second solar prize with 28 patents awarded (compared to 10 for First Solar).

Enter Dolby 3D
That's why I'm so intrigued by Monday's news that Dolby (NYSE: DLB ) and Philips (NYSE: PHG ) have collaborated in a joint project to create a new content delivery specification for the Dolby 3D format, which will be part of a "suite of technologies" to more easily allow content creators the ability to make, deliver, and play back glasses-free 3-D content.

Price new buys in the quarter were Oenok (OKE), Dolby Labs (DLB) and T-Mobile (TMUS). I don find any of those particularly exciting at current levels, but I willing to acknowledge that Michael Price is a lot smarter than I am and probably sees value I am missing in these stocks. What I find much more interesting was that Price was doing a lot more selling than buying in the third quarter.

Dolby Laboratories (NYSE: DLB ) saw its top and bottom lines both slide in its second fiscal quarter. In its just-released Q2 2013 results, revenue totaled $249 million, down from the $263 million in the same period the previous year. Advisors' Opinion: - [By Bryan Murphy]
Metabolix, Inc. (NASDAQ:MBLX) isn't exactly a name hat turns heads within the investment community. With a market cap of only $54.6 million, even big news from the company isn't a game-changer for the market. And, the fact that traders have a tough time defining what the company "does" hasn't helped the MBLX cause much either. Yet, the size of the company and the service it provides don't change the fact that the bullish Metabolix switch got flipped all the way to the on position on Tuesday.
- [By James E. Brumley]
If you'd rather spend your hard-earned dollars on some bargain-priced stocks rather than face the Black Friday mania at the malls (wise choice, by the way), then you've come to the right place. And, you may want to start you bargain hunt with Metabolix, Inc. (NASDAQ:MBLX) and Unwired Planet Inc. (NASDAQ:UPIP). Both names have been unduly beaten up in recent weeks, and better still, it looks like UPIP and MBLX, are ready to recover... in spades. That's an important detail, as a bargain is only a bargain if it's something actually worth owning. Take a look.

We do follow them, but generally don like the risk/reward ratio for most MLP investors.
